National Institute of Siddha, Chennai entered into the MoU with Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai on 17/12/2020

Prof.Dr.R.Meenakumari, Director, NIS and  Prof. Dr. T. Sasipraba., Vice chancellor, Sathyabama Institute  of Science and Technology signed MoU and have agreed for collaboration of areas such as joint research and developments, organizing and participating seminars/conferences etc., exchange of faculty etc., 

Prof. Dr. M. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dean, NIS and Mrs. Swarnalatha, Dean Sathyabama Institute  of Science and Technology and Dr. S. Sivakkumar., Associate professor, Department of Gunapadam also present during the event.

This MoU signed between the two organizations to achieve excellence in education and research are the common mission areas.The major purpose of this MoU is to establish a fruitful means of exchange of knowledge, information and research, and to facilitate and enhance the interaction between two organizations.

National Institute of Siddha (NIS) Chennai entered into the MoU with National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE-ICMR).

Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari, Director,  National Institute of Siddha (NIS),  Chennai and  Shri. Dr. Manoj Murhekar, Scientist-G Director,  National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE),  Chennai signed MoU today (04/12/2020). Both institutes' Directors and their team of experts, scientists and Doctors  also discussed about various collaborative works such as excellence in medical education and research. 

These two institutes after considering their objectives and strengths have agreed to have an understanding for collaboration in the following areas of interest:

>> Conduct joint research & development projects in the areas of clinical and health system research, epidemiological studies and basic medical and allied sciences research to be funded by specific funding sources;

>> Organize jointly seminars, workshops, webinars, conferences, continuing education programmes [including Continuing Medical Education (CME)] and develop academic programmes in areas of mutual interest

>> Promote exchange of students, Ph.D / Post-doctoral scholars, and faculty for teaching/training programmes

>> Use laboratory and library facilities for institutional members and scholars

Vigilance awareness Week -2020 - (27-10-2020 to 02-11-2020)

As a part of Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week from 27.10.2020 -2.11.2020 with the theme " Vigilant India ,  Prosperous India", Essay Competition was held  for the Faculty, Staff and Students of National Institute of Siddha on 26-10-2020 by strictly adhering to Social distance , with the theme ' Role of Citizens in building Vigilant India, Prosperous India'.

Staff and Students enthusiastically participated in the Essay writing competition. The best three essays are to be awarded cash prizes in the valedictory ceremony of the Vigilance awareness week observance as stated by the Director of NIS, Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari. National Institute of Siddha has planned various awareness activities for its staff & students regarding Vigilance awareness week 2020 which is to commence in coming days.

National Institute of Siddha (NIS) Started a Siddha treatment facility for COVID-19 at SRM University campus,  Kattankulathur, along with Chengalpattu district administration on 20/08/2020.This Covid Care Center will facilitate exclusive Siddha management for COVID-19 patients. Prof.Dr.R.Meenakumari, Director NIS and Mr.John Louis., District Collector,  Chengalpattu District Jointly inagurated the 490 beded Siddha COVID Care Centre (CCC).
