The National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai organised a National Seminar on \u201cFood and Health Practices in Siddha System of Medicine\u201d<\/strong> on 26 September 2018 at the NIS Auditorium, as part of National Nutrition Month \u2014 \u0ba4\u0bc7\u0b9a\u0bbf\u0baf \u0b8a\u0b9f\u0bcd\u0b9f\u0b9a\u0bcd\u0b9a\u0ba4\u0bcd\u0ba4\u0bc1 \u0bae\u0bbe\u0ba4\u0bae\u0bcd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar focused on the importance of food, nutrition and traditional health practices as explained in the Siddha system of medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Dr. V. Banumathi, Director, National Institute of Siddha, delivered the presidential address during the inaugural function. She also delivered the welcome address during the valedictory function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon\u2019ble Justice Thiru. M. Govindaraj, Madras High Court, Chennai, graced the valedictory function, delivered the presidential address and distributed certificates to the awardees. The programme formed part of NIS initiatives to promote awareness on nutrition, food-based health practices and the role of Siddha medicine in public health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
