Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. G. Senthilvel, M.D. (Siddha), Ph.D., Director, National Institute of Siddha, Chennai, the Department of Gunapadam Marunthakaviyal<\/strong> successfully conducted the two-day continuous hands-on training programme Vergalai Thedi (2 of 11)<\/em><\/strong> on 8th and 9th October 2026 at the Gunapadam Laboratory, National Institute of Siddha, Chennai \u2013 47.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme commenced with Thirumoolar Poojai and the inaugural ceremony, graced by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme featured expert guidance from Dr. A. Mamallan, M.D. (Siddha), Special Grade Assistant Medical Officer<\/strong>, Government Hospital, Kariyapatti, providing participants with valuable hands-on exposure to traditional Siddha pharmaceutical preparation techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional preparations, including Rasamani and Valladhi Vedi Annabedhi Chendhuram<\/strong>, further enriched the learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members of Government Siddha Medical College, Arumbakkam, and students from Sairam Siddha Medical College, Velumailu Siddha Medical College, and JSA Medical College, fostering knowledge sharing and experiential learning among Siddha professionals and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by Prof. Dr. G. Senthilvel, Director, and Prof. Dr. M.Meenakshi Sundaram, PG Dean(i\/c), National Institute of Siddha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vergalai Thedi continues to strengthen the preservation and transmission of classical Siddha pharmaceutical knowledge through practical training, expert mentorship, and experiential learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
