A Two days (30.11.18&1.12.18) CME Prgramme on “Pharmaco-vigilance Awareness cum Report Submission”, was organised by National Institute of Siddha. Intermediary Pharmacovigilance Centre. This programme was Inaugurated by Dr.D.C.Katoch, Advisor, Ayurveda, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India on 30.11.18 Welcome address was given by Dr S.Visweswaran, Co-ordinator IPvC, NIS. Chief guest address was given by Thiru. C.Kamaraj, I.A.S .Managing Director, Tamilnadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation and Presidential address was given by Prof Dr V.Banumathi, Director NIS. Prof. Dr K.Kanakavalli, Director General ,CCRS, .Dr N.J Muthukumar, Hospital Superintendent i/c, HOD i/c Dept of Sirappu Maruthuvam, Shri M.Subramanian,SRO, NIS and Shri S.Murugan, Deputy Director (Admin) delivered their felicitation address. The IEC Material was released by Dr D.C. Katoch, Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr R.Madhavan , Co-Ordinator, IPvC, NIS.
This CME deals about “Pharmacovigilance Awareness cum Report Submission”, in various aspects. More than 30 participants of Co-ordinators, Prgramme Assistants, Programme Associates of various Peripheral Pharmacovigilance across the country were participated and benefitted by this programme.
NIS is functioning as the Intermediary pharmaco-vigilance centre for Siddha System of Medicine coordinating the 13 regional pharco-vigilance centres for collection of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) cases in Siddha and initiating action for controlling and preventing the adverse effect of siddha drugs.
The objectives of the NPRC (S) is
To train the Co-ordinators of Regional / Peripheral centers
To collect the ADR reports
To monitor and investigate the ADR
To compile the investigation reports
To propose for prevention of ADR
To submit periodical reports to Department of AYUSH
