To promote integrated research in the Siddha system of medicine and provide Siddha treatment to the patients near and around Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute (CHRI), Kelambakkam, National Institute of Siddha inaugurated an upgraded Siddha specialty OP Clinic in Chettnad Hospital premises on 02.02.2023 jointly with Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE).
The Veteran Siddha Physician Prof. Dr. P. Jayaprakash Narayanan, participated as Guest of honor. Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari, Director, NIS and Prof. Dr. Sridharan, Dean, CHRI jointly inaugurated the OPD. This model is first of its kind initiative approved by Ministry of Ayush.
The Dean i/c of NIS, Prof. Dr. M. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dr Arunkumar, Vice – Principle, CHRI, Prof. G.J. Christian, HS i/c, NIS, Mrs. Jeyendra Saraswathi, Registrar, CARE and Dr. Swaminathan, DHS, CHRI are also participated in this inaugural ceremony.
Dr. A. Mariappan, Associate professor, Department of Gunapadam is being the Nodal officer for this initiative. Prof. Dr. Ahamed Bhasha, CARE and Dr. B.R. Senthilkumar, Assistant professor of Physiology coordinated the program.
