National Institute of Siddha, Chennai signed MoU with ICMR-National Institute of Traditional Medicine (ICMR-NITM) for academic cooperation and research partnership. The MoU was signed between Prof.Dr.R.Meenakumari Director, NIS and DG (Addl.Charge) CCRS and Prof. Dr.Subarna Roy, Scientist G & Director ICMR-NITM, Belagavi, Karnataka on 18.12.2022
The MoU signing ceremony was held during the valedictory session of 7th National Level Field Workshop on Medicinal Plants of the Western Ghats in the Nature Camp, Kulagi-Kali Tiger Reserve, Karnataka. Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari graced the valedictory session as Chief Guest. This workshop was organized by NITM amidst the forest of Western Ghats between 15 and 18, December 2022.
This MoU is expected to result in the development of collaborative research in the areas of clinical research, pharmacology, molecular biology, ethnobotany, invitro cell line studies, health system research besides the integration in clinical practice and conduct of training/teaching programme.
It is noteworthy that the signing of MoU was witnessed by Prof. Kanjaksha Ghosh, Former Director, ICMR-National Institute of Immunohaematology and Prof. Dr. Sanjeev D Kholkute, Former Director, ICMR-National Institute of Traditional Medicine.
