The National Institute of Siddha, Tambaram and the Thiruvarur Rotary Club collaborated to organise a Free Siddha Medical Camp, as well as distribution of medicinal plant saplings, at Veludayar Higher Secondary School, Thiruvarur, as part of the Post 5th Siddha Day Celebrations on February 26, 2022.
Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari, Director of NIS, delivered the Presidential Address. Rtn. Thiyagapari, President of the Thiruvarur Rotary Club, delivered the welcome address and the camp was inaugurated by Thiru. P. Chidambaram, District Revenue Officer and Additional Judge of Thiruvarur.
Rtn. S. Karthikeyan, CEO, Sri Narayani Funds Ltd., Thiruvarur, and Rtn. L. Durai, Assist Governor, Thiruvarur Rotary Club, inaugurated the distribution of medicinal plants saplings.
Special invitees included Dr. M. Vanaja, District Siddha Medical Officer, Thanjavur District, and Dr. S. Padmanaban, District Siddha Medical Officer, Napapattinam District.
Finally, Dr. S. Sivakumar, Associate Professor at NIS, delivered the vote of thanks. This camp benefited 1500 patients and distributed 2000 medicinal plant saplings to the general public.
