National Institute of Siddha has participated in the State Level Arogya Mela – 2022 held at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Aizawl, Mizoram from 19.10.22 to 21.10.22. Dr. S. Sivakkumar, Associate Professor, Department of Gunapadam, Dr. R. Aravinda Senbagaraman, Medical Officer and a team of PG Scholars, consisting of Dr. T. Jayaveeran, Dr C. Selva Lenin, Dr. K. Kavitha, Dr. D. Punitha, and Dr. R. Deepika participated as NIS stall exhibitors.
Dr. R. Lalthangliana, Hon’ble Health Minister, Government of Mizoram inaugurated the AROGYA Fair and visited NIS stall along with other officials. Prof. K. R. S. Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University also visited our stall and appreciated our team for our activities in the stall. Shri. Lalramsanga Sailo, Secretary of Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE), Mizoram government also visited our stall and he advised to take effort for popularizing the Siddha system of medicine in Mizoram state.
A larger number of general public visited NIS stall and they gained more about Siddha treatment and its therapeutic applications. IEC materials distributed about Siddha medicines and its benefits, Facilities available in Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital, NIS and outcomes of clinical research studies. The booklets and brochures about Siddha food, healthy lifestyle and guidelines for the management of several non – communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and obesity were also distributed.
