A modern Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water plant was installed at the National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai, on 20 September 2018.
The facility was provided by NLC India Limited under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the benefit of visitors, patients, staff, students and other users of the Institute.
The RO drinking water plant was inaugurated by Shri R. Vikraman, Director (Human Resources), NLC India Limited, and Prof. Dr. V. Banumathi, Director, National Institute of Siddha.
The plant has a purification capacity of 1,000 litres of water per hour and was installed at a cost of ₹14.90 lakh. The plant was manufactured and installed by Tata Projects, which would also take care of its maintenance.
Shri R. Mohan, Chief General Manager (CSR), NLC; Shri V. Ramachandran, Deputy General Manager (CSR), NLC; Shri K. Ramesh, Deputy General Manager (CSR), NLC; and Shri C. H. Ragavareddi, Chief Manager, NLC, also graced the occasion.
The facility was established to improve access to purified drinking water for patients, visitors, students, staff and the public visiting NIS.
