UG (BSMS) Admission – Documents Required at the Time of Reporting:
Candidates reporting to the National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai, for admission to the Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) programme shall bring the following fee payment and documents at the time of admission/reporting.
1. Admission Fee & Demand Draft Details
The total amount payable at the time of admission is ₹55,000/- (Rupees Fifty-Five Thousand only), as detailed below:

Candidates shall bring a Demand Draft (DD) for ₹55,000/-, drawn from a Nationalized Bank, in favour of: “The Director, National Institute of Siddha” Payable at Chennai.

3. Photocopies
Candidates shall bring two sets of photocopies of the applicable certificates/documents listed above and two photocopies of the Aadhaar Card.
4. Soft Copies
- Candidates shall bring a USB Pen Drive containing soft copies of the required documents.
- All certificates/documents should be consolidated into a single PDF file not exceeding 2 MB.
- Passport-size Photograph: JPG/JPEG format, within 50 KB
- Signature: JPG/JPEG format, within 20 KB
- The Pen Drive will be returned after completion of the admission process.
Important Instructions
Candidates are advised to bring all applicable original certificates, photocopies, soft copies and the prescribed Demand Draft on the reporting day to facilitate smooth document verification and admission.

B.S.M.S. Admission Process – Academic Year 2026–27
The National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. The Institute follows the curriculum, syllabus and academic standards prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).
For the Academic Year 2026–27, the Institute is permitted to admit 60 students (58 seats for Indian students + 02 seats for foreign students) to the Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (B.S.M.S.) programme.
Eligibility for Admission
Admission to the B.S.M.S. programme shall be based on the NEET (UG) 2026 score and shall be made in accordance with the eligibility criteria, reservation policy of the Government of India, and the applicable regulations/guidelines issued by AACCC, NCISM and The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
Candidates must satisfy all eligibility requirements prescribed for admission to the B.S.M.S. programme, including educational qualifications, NEET-UG eligibility and other conditions notified by the competent authorities from time to time.
Admission through AACCC Counselling
Admission to all 60 B.S.M.S. seats at the National Institute of Siddha shall be made only through the Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC), NCISM, Government of India.
Eligible NEET (UG) candidates seeking admission to B.S.M.S. at NIS shall:
- Register online for AACCC-UG Counselling 2026–27 through the official AACCC portal.
- Complete the prescribed registration and payment process.
- Participate in the online choice-filling and choice-locking process and select National Institute of Siddha, Chennai – B.S.M.S. as one of their preferred choices.
- Obtain seat allotment through AACCC based on NEET-UG merit, applicable reservation policy, choices exercised and availability of seats.
- Download the AACCC allotment/admission letter and report to the National Institute of Siddha, Chennai, within the stipulated period.
- Produce all required original certificates/documents for verification and complete the prescribed Institute and University admission formalities.
- Pay the applicable course fees and other prescribed fees to confirm admission.
The AACCC-UG counselling process generally includes Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round(s) as notified by AACCC. Candidates shall strictly follow the counselling schedule, reporting instructions and other directions issued by AACCC from time to time.
Important: No direct admission to the B.S.M.S. programme shall be made by the National Institute of Siddha outside the counselling/allotment process prescribed by AACCC. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official AACCC website for registration, counselling schedule, seat matrix, choice filling, allotment results, reporting instructions and other admission-related updates.
The current official AACCC portal confirms that NEET-UG 2026 qualified candidates must register there for UG counselling and that the 2026–27 Siddha (BSMS) seat matrix is published through AACCC.
