National Institute of Siddha celebrated the National Girl Child day on 24.01.2022 with the general public and PG Scholars by conducting various competitions and programmes. The programme was inaugurated by the Director NIS, Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari who delivered a speech regarding the importance of girl child and their nutrition in Siddha.

An interesting quiz competition was conducted for the general public particularly the girl children focusing on the topic ‘Girl’s health’ and were awarded the prizes for winners.

A traditional wear competition was conducted for the female PG scholars for emphasizing the importance of traditional wears.  Prof. Dr. M. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dr. P. Shanmugapriya and Dr. H. Vetha Merlin Kumari judged the event.

A poetry competition on the topic ‘Importance of Girl Child ‘ was conducted for PG scholars. The event was judged by Faculty members Dr. M.V. Mahadevan and Dr. V. Swarnavalli.

A speech contest on the topic “The role of Siddha system to nourish the health of girl child’ was conducted and judged by Dr. A. Muthuvel, Dr. D. Aravind and Dr. R. Madhavan Faculty members.

In traditional wear competition Dr S. Jeeva, Dr. S. Mahesh Priya and Dr. V. Abinaya Arulmalar won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

In poetry competition Dr. A. Vimala Jasmin, Dr. M.G. Chitra, Dr. S. Keerthika won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

In speech competition Dr. S. Jeeva, Dr. M. G. Chitra won the first and second prizes respectively.

The third prizes shared by Dr. S. Mahesh Priya and Dr. A. Maruthabarani. In speech Competition Special prizes shared by Dr D. Velaman and Dr. R. Deepika.
