The Department of Noi Naadal, National Institute of Siddha (NIS), Chennai, conducted a six-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme for Siddha practitioners from 04 December 2018 to 09 December 2018 at NIS, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai.
The programme successfully concluded on 09 December 2018 with a valedictory ceremony.
The CME manual was released by Prof. Dr. V. Banumathi, Director, National Institute of Siddha. The first copy was received by Dr. S. K. Sasi, Associate Professor, Siddha Medical College, Chennai.
More than 12 experts delivered lectures and conducted demonstrations on various Siddha and allied clinical topics, including Siddha basic principles, Suttigai, Attai Vidal, electrocardiogram interpretation, subfertility management, preparation of higher-order Siddha medicines, external therapy instrumentation, Computer-Aided Semen Analysis, Naadi examination in obstetrics and gynaecology, and Karanool therapy for perianal fistula.
The programme was attended by 25 Assistant Medical Officers (Siddha) from various districts of Tamil Nadu, private practitioners, postgraduate students of NIS, students of Government Siddha Medical College, Chennai, and graduates of Siddha medicine. The CME programme formed part of the academic and professional capacity-building activities of NIS in connection with Siddha Day 2018.
