Doing anything for first time in our life is always cherishable. Though there will be several memorable moments in the medical profession, wearing white coat and placing stethoscope around neck for the first time give immense pleasure to the medical students who start their medical education.
 
The day, the students of “BSMS 1st Professional (UG)” received their first white coat, was celebrated on 09.04.2023 as the “White Coat Ceremony” at National Institute of Siddha, Chennai.
The occasion was graced by the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Shri. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and Special Secretary Shri. Promod Kumar Pathak. These officials handed over the coats and stethoscopes to the UG students. It is a great honour for the historic 1st B.S.M.S. batch students of NIS. The Secretary also interacted with students about their studies and future goals.
 
The Director of NIS, Prof. Dr. R. Meenakumari welcomed the dignitaries. The Commissioner of the Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy, Govt. of Tamil Nadu Shri. Ganesh participated and felicitated the students.
 
The Dean (PG & UG), faculties and PG scholars of NIS participated in the event.
